I was raised on a farm in the Arkansas river valley and will always be a country girl at heart. Many of my stories are set in rustic areas or have characters with roots in rural America. I can’t help but embed some little part of me or my surroundings into my heroes and heroines.
Stories have been a part of my life since I was born. As a child, my aunt made me a quilt covered in pictures from nursery rhymes and fairy tales. My mother read to me every night. My grandmother and aunts stored paperbacks that wouldn’t fit on the bookshelves in empty Tide boxes. To this day, the smell of laundry detergent reminds me of a good book.
I’ve written stories since childhood and always hoped the future held a book cover with my name on it. I’m still striving toward that goal.
